As an organization, Health Services of North Texas (HSNT) is focused on helping people get the healthcare they need without having to worry about barriers to care. At all levels, HSNT is filled with staff that live this mission of supporting our community, and today we’re announcing one of our newer members to the team: Laura Moore, FNP-BC.
Since she was six years old, Laura has wanted to practice medicine, and her work experience since beginning her career has led her through many different experiences.
“I’ve worked emergency rooms, urgent care, pediatrics, and family medicine,” Laura says. This wealth of experience and variety of fields she’s worked in showed Laura that the people she most wants to help are the people who need it the most.
“It is so rewarding to help patients who would not be helped otherwise,” says Laura. “Helping them and getting them back up on their feet is why I do what I do. I guess I’ve just always liked helping people and developing a relationship with the patient.”
Any patient that walks in the door, no matter their background or resources, will get the quality care HSNT is known for. But it’s this drive to help people that keeps Laura coming back to work every day. She knows that when patients walk into the health center, they’re looking for guidance, and Laura is dedicated to helping patients navigate their healthcare journey as best she can, either through direct means or pointing them in the right direction.
“I really feel like this is why I became a nurse practitioner, to help those who cannot help themselves,” says Laura. “I have found my home working at HSNT.”
And just like with Laura, we hope that we can be your medical home, too.
