Housing Assistance
Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) provides for long and short term rental assistance including the provision of rental, mortgage, and utility payments to a landlord, mortgage holder or utility provider. The purpose of this program is to reduce financial stress due to delinquent bills to allow the client to focus more on his medical and mental health concerns.
Housing and Urban Development Program (HUD) programs include the provision of rent and utility payments. The purpose of this program is to provide transitional housing for people who are currently homeless and living with HIV until a housing need is no longer present. This program is designed to help eligible clients maintain permanent housing, achieve greater self-determination and increase their income.
