National Organizations

  • AIDS Action is a national organization dedicated to the development, analysis, cultivation, and encouragement of sound policies and programs in response to the HIV epidemic.

  • As a part of its overall public health mission, CDC provides leadership in helping control the HIV/AIDS epidemic by working with community, state, national, and international partners in surveillance, research, and prevention and evaluation activities.

  • The HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) was formed in August 1997 to consolidate all programs funded under the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act.

  • Founded in 1987, The AIDS Memorial Quilt is a poignant memorial, a powerful tool for use in preventing new HIV infections, and the largest ongoing community arts project in the world.

  • Founded in 1983, the National Association of People with AIDS is a non-profit membership organization that advocates on behalf of all people living with HIV and AIDS in order to end the pandemic and the human suffering caused by HIV/AIDS.

  • The National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC), established in 1987, is the premier national organization dedicated to developing leadership within communities of color to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS

State and Local Orgs

  • The Center established the AIDS Resource Center in 1985 to provide information and prevention education. The AIDS Resource Center now offers a wide range of programs to assist individuals and families affected by HIV and AIDS. The continuum of services includes: HIV awareness and prevention education/outreach; nutritional services including a food pantry and hot lunches; information & referral; community health programs; and a wide variety of other social support services.

  • AIDS Outreach Center of Greater Tarrant County is the leading organization in Tarrant and eight surrounding rural counties serving men, women and children with HIV and their families, educating the public about HIV prevention and advocating for sound HIV public policy.

  • The purpose of AIDS Arms, Inc. is to assist individuals in accessing the healthcare, resources and support necessary to successfully manage the challenges of living with HIV/AIDS.

  • ARRT is a nonprofit, full-service HIV/AIDS organization that serves 28 rural counties; 11 of those counties surround the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We have offices in Weatherford, Abilene, and Waxahachie.

  • AIDS Interfaith Network was created in 1986 by a group of clergy and pastoral and lay counselors who were providing spiritual and emotional support services to persons living with HIV/AIDS. These same individuals were attempting to educate clergy, churches, and their congregations about HIV/AIDS in an effort to promote a more compassionate response to those who were struggling with the disease.
